While the Furor rages on about so-called vandals being responsible for the hideous mess he’s made of Washington’s reflecting pool, nary a journalist has the cajones to point out that the word has a definition, namely, “the deliberate defacement or destruction of public property” . … you know, like defacing the Center for the Performing Arts by plastering your name onto its facade, or wantonly destroying the East Wing of the White House. Only the Furor’s mania for sabotage, war crimes and assassination on a global scale surpasses his zeal for vandalism:

Somehow the article in the NYT that reported his completely unfounded allegation that the botched pool “renovation” was the fault of vandals failed to mention that fact.

So the Furor’s breaking the law, dismissing legalities, defacing and destroying public property on a whim isn’t News the grey lady sees as fit to print. For the nonexistent vandalism of the pool there are tons of ink to spill, yet to call the vandalization of public parks, public buildings, and the public’s White House can be carried out without the least fear that such illegal acts will be called by their name … even when his own personally debauched SCROTUM (Supreme Court Of the Underhanded MAGA) declares it unlawful… ie, vandalism, the Furor persists in his determination to flagrantly thwart the public’s wishes.

The departure of more than 10,000 federal lawyers has left some agencies without sufficient staff and has boosted the ranks of state attorneys general offices and advocacy groups.

SEES a striking exodus? Shouldn’t that read CAUSES a striking exodus? This is not just neutral reporting, it’s not “fair & balanced”, it’s downright misleading, pretending as though said exodus just happened to occur during the Doge-day sabotage of the US government by it’s Commandeerer ‘n Thief to facilitate his war profiteering and outright piracy from his position in what, under his stewardship, has become the Offal Office.

STAGE 1: Financial Collapse. Faith in “business as usual “ is lost. The future is no longer assumed to resemble the past in any way that allows risk to be assessed and financial assets to be guaranteed. Financial institutions become insolvent; savings are wiped out and access to capital is lost.

STAGE 2: Commercial Collapse. Faith that “the market will provide” is lost. Money is devalued and/or becomes scarce, commodities are hoarded (euphemistically called “stockpiled”), import and retail chains break down and widespread shortages of survival necessities become the norm.

STAGE 3: Political Collapse. Faith that “the government will take care of you” is lost. as official attempts to mitigate widespread loss of access to commercial sources of survival necessities fail to make a difference, the political establishment loses legitimacy and relevance.

STAGE 4: Social Collapse. Faith that “your people will take care of you” is lost, as local social institutions, be they charities or other groups that rush in to fill the power vacuum, run out of resources or fail through internal conflict.

STAGE 5: Cultural collapse. Faith in the goodness of humanity is lost. People lose their capacity for “kindness, generosity, consideration, affection, honesty, compassion, charity.” Families disband and compete as individuals for scarce resources. The new motto becomes “May you die today so that I can die tomorrow.” 

The closing of the Strait of Hormuz will, (or perhaps I should say, is) demonstrating that Dimitri got his list backwards: financial collapse seems to be the last, not the first. The Furor’s return indicates that the cultural collapse has already occurred.
